About

         Department of Management Studies was started in the year 2009-2010 under MASS College of Arts & Science and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. It was established with a view to cater to the professional ambitions of youth in the field of management and business.

         The Department coming under the umbrella of MASS Educational Institutions shares the same vision, which is " Motivating students to acquire academic excellence and technical talents and to create skills and personality development with a sense of social responsibility, so that they can face global level competition”.

MBA Programme

Master of Business Administration is a two years post graduate programme which is divided into 4 semesters. The college being affiliated to Bharathidasan University, follow syllabus prescribed by it. Classes for I & II semester usually starts during July – August and II semester and IV semester during November – December.


Teaching Methodology

A variety of techniques are followed to ensure through understanding of the faculty lecture. Student interaction and group discussing form the core part. Faculty lectures aided by power point presentations using LCD projector. Student seminars and poster presentations form the basis of self learning. Students are encouraged to submit assignments and extensively use the internet.

Training Programmes

Students are trained in various aspects to mould their personality special emphasis is given on developing soft skills. Various exercises and management games are conducted to develop planning, organising team building, communication and presentation skills in the students. Time management and stress management skills are focused upon.


Attendance

Students are required to secure more than 85% attendance to qualify to attend the university exam.

Student Activities

A variety of management games, extra curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted regularly.

Case Study sessions

Real as well as hypothetical case studies from the corporate world are analysed by the students to inculcate decision making and analytical and reasoning skill of the students.

Students seminars

Students are required to present seminars form the syllabus as well as general topics using LCD. These power point presentations help the students to shed a stage fear and also develop presentation skills.

Management Games

A variety of management games such as Adzap, product launch, quiz, treasure, hunt, dumb charades, situation analysis games and so on are organized.


Talent Shine Competitions

An array of literary as well as management related competitions form the core of talent shine. Essay writing, elocution, painting, poetry writing, and other competitions are conducted to bring out the hidden talents in the students and also refresh them. This is an interdepartmental competition.


Paper presentation competitions

A topic is given based on which each student submits an article. Best articles are chosen and the students are given the opportunity to present the paper using power point presentation. Prizes are given for best presentation.

KAIZEN

Inter college management meet. The department has organized an inter collegiate meet featuring varoius competitions. winners are awarded trophies and overall championship is awareded to the winning college

MASS IGMTOR

A National conference is conducted by the department to provide an avenue for research thoughts in Management.

Placement Training

Placement training, training on interview skills and mock interviews are conducted to equip the final year students to face the challenges of real interview. A placement cell operates under the placement officer for this purpose.
